Hey Family my name is Mariah Crawford. I am a junior in college at Drake University pursuing a degree in Journalism for Digital Media Production and Acting. I am from Dallas, Texas born and raised. Since I was a young child I’ve always been involved in the sport and arts. I started running track and field when I was 4 years old with the Desoto roadrunner and started playing basketball at the age of 5 with the Desoto recreation center league. Within the arts I started playing piano at 7 years old and Guitar at 10, I also stated doing poetry and theater when I was 11 years old.
Since then I’ve been continuously involved in the arts and also sports which leads to me to college endeavors. As stated before my majors are very arts oriented and creative, along with being a student track athlete. My transition to college was very difficult, probably one of the most difficult things that I’ve had to go through. I was 12 hours away from everyone I’ve ever met in my life for the first time ever which was absolutely devastating. I was consistently sad the entire first semester, but luckily I was able to make some pretty amazing friends the second semester of my freshman year.
Looking back at that time, I am so happy that I experienced that transition. Moving 12 hours away from home to college not only forced me to get comfortable with the uncomfortable, it also forced me to mature and grow up. I wasn’t able to call on my parents for everything, and my success was based on my discipline and ability to hold myself accountable. Now as a junior at Drake University I look at my growth as a person and it makes me so grateful for everything. I am now able to go anywhere in the world and be just fine on my own because of this college experience. Being in college and reading “The Alchemist” (lol) has opened my eyes and clarified to exactly what I want to do in life, and this moment brings me to Stardust Idea.
As an actor and creator the concept of Stardust is very special to me, I believe everyone has a Stardust aspect to them. I also believe that every great thing in one’s life starts with an idea. You bring Stardust and an idea together and you get me. In present time I would like to label myself an actor, writer, creator, and giver and through those things I hope to sprinkle Stardust into everyone’s life.
